This year I’m a National Geographic Kids Insider. Big hoey you say, but what that means to you is that we’ll be giving away lots of National Geographic Kids stuff! And if you have a child that loves animals then they know about Nat Geo Kids. The National Geographic Kids Almanac 2015 is aimed at children 8-12, but adults will enjoy looking at it just as much.
Our oldest child is almost 5 and he’s nowhere near being able to read and understand the words, but he absolutely loves looking at the photos. The 2015 almanac is packed with photos. Photos of animals, exotic landscapes, crafts, vehicles, maps, people, clothing, space-you name it and it’s most likely somewhere in this book.
There are dozens of activities in the book, examples of outdoor things that the kids can do and so much more. I would almost call this a bathroom book because of its compact size, bite size information, great pictures and interesting facts. Almost…..but this is a book that demands to be used. Your child will take it upstairs, fold back certain pages, try to read it at the dinner table and use it for school reports. Imagine that, using a book instead of the internet for a school project.
The National Geographic Kids Almanac 2015 is divided up into like sections, including animals, going green, science, culture, nature and more. There is also an index at the back and digital extras online. This is a book packed with information that you and your kids will engage with over and over, even if it’s just for fun.
