This is sponsored by Frito-Lay, all opinions are my own. Those parents with pre-school children have a two week delay before mother’s morning out or pre-K starts. We’re choosing to take this as a blessing because it allows more time with our two small children who will never be this size again. On this day we packed up loads of Frito-Lay snacks and went park hopping. On the docket today is a new park and an established one that we visit regularly.
Immediately when I told the boys that we were going to a park the youngest one screamed for the Frito- Lay Variety Pack. While I like that he’s enthusiastic about our work today, I wish that he could lower his decibel level and increase his patience. However, as we were 40 minutes away from the park he had to be content with having the bag near his feet where he could only kick it as his size 5 feet went back and forth.
The big thing about the Frito-Lay Variety Pack, aside from the big choices of which snack to eat, is that when you buy the specially marked bags you can enter for the chance to win a Skylanders® prize and get discount coupons to save cash on Skylanders® SWAP Force™. In our earlier post we told you about the Blippar App and how you can download that to enter for a chance to win translucent version of the Skylanders® character Fire Bone Hot Dog. You can download Blippar for your iPhone or Android device with ease.
It’s simple to enter. You can still win and get $5-off coupons for Skylanders® SWAP Force™ Starter Packs and $1-off coupons for Skylanders® SWAP Force™ Single Toys, while supplies last
Once we got to the park we unloaded our snacks, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, water bottles, various Skylanders® bags, Frito-Lay chips, sunglasses and Fire Bone Hot Dog. We were a video game version of a NASCAR driver, but entirely OK with it as long as the kids had fun and kept their hands off of my Doritos Cool Ranch chips.
They climbed on the ropes, ran on the walkway, looked down the binoculars at their pretend pirate ship, played on the swings and bumped heads a couple of times. It was just two brothers running around, enjoying the last week of summer before their respective pre-school classes start up. At times I see so much of me in them when they play and even though they drive me crazy sometimes, it’s important to remember that this is their time.
At the next park our youngest asked, in his own particular way, for some leaves to race down the river. River, is a bit of a stretch, but it’s an activity that they both love doing.
After the great leaf race our oldest continued his quest to checker domination. Actually, he’s just learning to play checkers, but he’s keen and will grab the closest pile of mulch to learn if needed.
It was an awesome day. A chance to explore a new park, have the kids dig on some snacks and learn about leaf racing. You can plan your own day out with the specially marked Frito-Lay Variety Pack. Download the Bippar app, enter for a chance to win.
