As I mentioned, we love Baby Eisnstein. We had an earlier version of the Baby Neptune Ocean Orchestra when our oldest was just a baby. While the toy was fun and played some nice classical music, it wasn’t anything remarkable. “How much could they really improve a device?”, I thought before I opened this up. This toy is cool, the sound is crisp and the lights are vivid.
The turtle is cute, isn’t he? Don’t be fooled by the opening on the top of his head, it’s not a light, it just looks like it. His feet wobble so that you can give him the appearance of crawling on the floor. However, the real magic with the Baby Neptune Ocean Orchestra happens when you turn it on.
You’ll notice that the top of the turtle shell has a music sign on the very top and a big piano, drum, cello, xylophone and harp button along the side. At the bottom of the shell you’ll see a switch that has a person conducting and two music notes.
For babies3-9 months you can have it on the multiple music notes and it’ll play one of eight classical songs.
For 9 months and older you can put it in the composer mode to have your child add music to the classical works. As you press each musical instrument it’s added to the final work. Want to hear Vivaldi with just the harp? OK, let’s add some piano, then drums and see how that sounds. When you want to let it go all Close Encounters on you (or the baby), just press the big button on top and all of the instruments will be added.
The LED lights are sharp and the volume switch that allows for the higher and lower sound is crystal clear at either one.
This toy is awesome. It’s not enough for us to have a third child awesome, but it’s a great present or purchase for anyone that has a little one.
