Because ads or lack thereof, matter. Bing in the Classroom

One time our oldest was watching videos online when I heard incredibly bad language coming from the computer.  An ad had led him to a video that they thought was similar to what he was looking for.   In reality it was a profane laced cartoon that satirized programming that was meant for children.  Even before that happened I used Bing at home search for things.  Bing in the Classroom is in the same vein, an ongoing program to help kids use technology-in an ad-free, safe environment. Sharp focus-Bing in the Classroom   I know that when our kids use the internet at school it’s supervised, but the things that Bing in the Classroom are doing go above and beyond helping children and the schools that they attend. Bing in the Classroom lets kids explore their curiosity in a safe environment.

You know those dicey advertisements that you see when you click on other engines?   Your children won’t see them when they use Bing in the Classroom.   The teachers or adults can manage the filters that will block adult content.   Even if it’s not a foul mouthed cartoon, I don’t want our kids seeing garbage ads that are barely relevant to adults.

#AdFreeSearch is the way to go. Bing in the Classroom is open to any school and having them get involved is simple.  Bonus:  schools can earn free Surface Tablets with their Bing Rewards!

Signing up for Bing Rewards is simple too.  After you sign up you’ll see a little medallion to the left of your name.   Every time you search you’ll get point or other rewards.  You can learn more and maybe figure out who flushed Mr. Fishy by watching this.

Another bonus, this one is for the teachers. Bing in the Classroom has lesson plans that teachers can access for three different grade levels, K-4, 5-8 and 9-12.  Recap, digital literacy lesson plans for the teachers and points earned from Bing Rewards that can be cashed in for Surface Tablets.

I’m required to disclose a sponsored partnership between our site and Bing. I have been compensated in exchange for this post in the form of payment, product or experiences.
