Part of the joy of being a parent is having fun with your children.  Dinosaur Train is the rare children’s television show that has wit, intelligence, humor, teachable moments and education in the same package.  The fact that Dinosaur Train is enjoyable for the parent as well makes it even more of a treat.  Jim Henson’s Dinosaur Train Live:  Buddy’s Big Adventure is traveling the country and will be at Cobb Energy Center for two shows on February 22 at 1 and 4.

Before our children loved Dinosaur Train I thought the premise was silly.  Dinosaurs ride a train to meet other dinosaurs.  However, once you see it, heck, once you see the opening credits you realize that it’s a whip smart series that teaches kids while entertaining them.

Our 4 year old loves all things dinosaurs.  Thanks to Dinosaur Train he can sing the Dinosaur ABCs, knows dozens of types of dinosaurs and has graduated to more documentary style dino-programming.

Buddy’s Big Adventure uses all manner of puppetry in the show and is squarely aimed at entertaining preschool aged kids and older.  However, I have full confidence that I’ll enjoy the show immensely also.

We were provided with a family 4-pack of tickets to the show.  However, this is so cool we would’ve paid to see it ourselves.  I hope that admission doesn’t negate the free passes though.
