So, I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for #RadioShack. I received a gift card there and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Growing up we all used to go to Radio Shack didn’t we? When I went with my father he was always looking at something that confused me and I gravitated to the diodes, transistors and circuit boards. It’s not that I understood them any more than what my father was looking at, they just seemed so much cooler.
Fast forward and Radio Shack has up and redesigned their logo & stores, giving them a completely different feel. Sure they still sell the diodes and transistors, but they also sell buckets of other things that I need and know how to use.
We went there to get some batteries. We needed rechargeable batteries for all of those children’s toys and some of those flat batteries for household items. Rechargeable batteries aren’t sexy; but they sure are useful when you factor in how much batteries cost and how quickly those toys burn through them. While there I also purchased a remote control car for our local Toys for Tots drive.
For us this year our must-have Christmas holiday item was all about batteries. Either it’s a new toy or one that’s been in the house for a while it uses a D or AAA battery and we’re tired of buying them. It’s better for the environment and long term, better for our wallet.
If you’re in pinch for some Christmas or holiday gifts check out the Radio Shack Holiday Hub. It’s a page packed with gift ideas to a certain price point. Gifts under $25, $50, $100 or other price points, with most of the items already marked down double digit percentages.
One of the best things I saw during my trip was this.
It’s a classic, old school learning toy that I remember having as a pre teen. I loved it, wished I still had mine and hope it’s still on the market in 5 or so years when our kids are old enough for it. You can check out more photos from our trip to the #RadioShack at our Google + photo album.
