The NYNE NB-200 Bluetooth Speaker: easy set up, great sound

We received a NYNE NB-200 Bluetooth Speaker for review purposes.  It’s a Bluetooth speaker and the company really wants you to know that it can be mounted to your bicycle handlebars.  A Bluetooth speaker wasn’t something that was on the top of Tech Gadgets I Need list.  However, after using it for a while I’ve discovered that, the sound from my tablet’s speakers are horrible and that the NYNE is a fabulous tool to make and receive phone calls on.

The installation of the NYNE NB-200 was simple.  Just a quick discoverable search on the device and it was found by all the tablets and phones in the house.   It literally took :45.

The sound is really impressive.  We recently used the speaker at a party for our son’s preschool party.  It was a room of 10 noisy 4 year olds and a handful of adults.  The volume was up halfway and it supplied enough sound for it to be heard, but not overwhelming.  And the sound crisp, pinging all of higher pitched sounds and providing enough bass to sound like a system twice its size.   Also, keep in mind that the device was only half cranked, we had excess volume if we needed it.

It’s so portable that you can take it anywhere and have crystal clear sound.  Remember that scene from Say Anything?  Yeah, you can do that.  We had a parade in our neighborhood recently and that would’ve been the perfect thing for folks in the parade to have to listen, sing or march to.

The box for the NYNE NB-200 Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with Bicycle Clips has it mounted to a pair of bicycle handlebars.  It could certainly come in handy when you’re working out on a stationary bike or walking the children.  However, personally for me putting the device on my bike would be too much like a Mister Microphone.

I also use the device in the home office when I take some phone calls.  It’s more comfortable than my earpiece and the quality of the phone call is much higher.

It charges conveniently on a USB charger and has an LED light to let you know how full its battery is. This is a simple device that you don’t realize how much you’ll use it.  Grilling or eating outside, listening to higher quality audio on your tablet or phone while at the beach-the options are limitless.  We were thinking about getting one of those fake looking rocks that is also an MP3 player/Bluetooth receiver but no more.

With a fake rock all it can do is stay outside.  With the NYNE NB-200 you can take it inside, to your kid’s class-anywhere.  The sound is great and it’s a device that you’ll find yourself using much more than you think you might.

We were provided with a device for review purposes.  All thoughts are our own.  We never did own a Mister Microphone, but find the commercial hilarious.
