As a parent the internet and social media are a bit intimidating. I’m glad that our boys are young enough so that I can get ahead of it, if just barely. I know that it changes quickly and what’s cool is suddenly not. However I hope that by dad having some foothold in social media I’ll be able to assist and ward off some troubles for them. Much like the internet makes activists slacktivists it also makes cyber-bullying much easier to do.

As a parent I would’ve scoffed at children learning from comic books. However, here it is 30+ years and I still remember Aquaman teaching me to pull my upper eye lid over my lower eye lid to make my eye water when something foreign gets in there. Comics also help kids learn to love reading.
