The Honest Toddler speaks the truth, but I didn’t get it

I am sometimes behind the curve on things.   I didn’t get Doctor Who until they had made about 40 episodes into the latest incarnation-now I love it!  I ‘get’ Convos With My 2 Year Old immediately.  The Honest Toddler is a twitter sensation that has a book out now that I just don’t get.

Initially the tweets were from a toddler and their twitter account is big.   With The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting, Bumni Laditan was revealed as the creator of the sarcastic wit.

In tweet form, it makes me grin.  While I was reading the book I was bored.

Was I bored because it was written by a women and I just didn’t get it?    I don’t know.  I like How to Be a Dad and other humor sites for parents.  Convos With my 2 YO is a great concept that is laugh out loud funny.

Is The Honest Toddler better in tweet form?  Yes, it is.  As I’m a dad to two young children there was nothing surprising or entertaining about The Honest Toddler book.   Every situation they made jokes about were things that I had either thought in my head, seen something similar before or just didn’t laugh at.   That either means that I need to write a book or have another child, neither of which are happening now.

Ladies, have you read The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting?  Is this something that stays on the mom side of fence or do I need to give it a second look?
