Sunny Decals review: simple & versatile to decorate children’s walls

There are a couple different schools of thought when it comes to decorating a child’s room. Decorate when they’re a newborn or decorate it once you know what things they like. We decided to wait until we knew what 3YO Mojo liked and in his case it was all about animals.

Not dinosaurs, space aliens, cars, trains, robots or ninjas, just animals. We opted to decorate his walls with decals from Sunny Decals. They have a large selection of decals for boys and girls ranging from those already mentioned to princess, rainbow, space, tractor, under the sea decals and more.

His jungle animal decals arrived in a very large cardboard tube. Per the instructions included, we laid the sheet out flat so that the decals could unravel.

After an hour I started to put them up in his room. I put the small ones up first and the process was really easy. If they stuck to each other when I was taking them off the paper I gently pulled them apart and placed them on the wall.

The largest decal featuring two monkeys in a tree needed two people to pull it off and place it on the wall. If I didn’t like where I put something I just gently pulled it up and placed the Sunny Decal where I wanted it to go.

The fact that the decals are movable is one of the biggest differences between them and other wall decorations. If you hire a mural painter it’ll cost more than the decals and won’t be transferable. These decals are reusable, leave no residue and won’t stretch or tear.

3YO Mojo also can’t pry them up. While they are transferable, you need to use something really sharp, like a razor to pry up a corner in order to move them.

We were really pleased with Sunny Decals. They were really easy to install, 3YO Mojo loves them and we can move them into this brother’s room in a year or two when he gets into cars instead of animals. The fact that we can reuse them also saves us money. As a bonus we still use the cardboard tube that they arrived in as a tunnel that his matchbox cars race through.

We received our Sunny Decals from the company for review purposes. All thoughts are our own.

  1. These days, heck yeah, these are they way to go! Simple and easy. As an artist, I WANT to do murals all day long. Alas, I cannot, for there is no money to made in it for me. So I rely on the decals.
