Three months deep and More Mojo is running like clockwork. By now our 12-week old is wearing size 1 diapers-but will soon start cloth diapers and is really starting settle into a normal life, albeit at 1/16 scale.
Smiling
I mentioned that at 10-weeks More Mojo was smiling, however, these smiles put those smiles to shame. He was grinning to the warm up act and now he’s smiling for the feature performer. Sometimes the smiles are tough to predict, but thankfully he has developed a trigger.
Life on the Lamb
The Lamb makes More Mojo smile. Toddler Mojo didn’t dig the stuffed animals too much. More Mojo has taken to them and it is the cutest thing ever. Well, maybe not cuter than a litter of kittens cute, but it’s still damn cute.
He’ll smile a big toothless grin as wide as possible when you rub the Lamb against his cheek. If you do it and make cute baby sounds then he’ll even laugh. Parenting win. It’s moments like watching a 12-week old laugh worthwhile when you’re waking up in the middle of the night to feed them.
The Routine
The sleep and wake schedule is still the same, thankfully. I say thankfully because he was thrown off the schedule for a couple days and he let us know that he did not appreciate it. He was grumpier, unpredictable and overall not himself.
He’s back on schedule and the half week when he wasn’t on schedule made us appreciate it much more. Down at 6:30 pm, bottle at 11:00 pm, sleep most nights through the night, wake up at 6:30 am, then a bottle, followed by two hours of awake, then a nap and a bottle. Repeat until 6:30 pm arrives or Mom comes home to relieve Dad.
More Mojo also went to the doctor for one of his scheduled visits. He got three shots, which he didn’t like too much and developed a tiny fever for a day afterwards. The doctor warned us it might happen and we gave him some infant medication which calmed the soul of a 12-week old. His next visit is at the four-month period where he’ll get some more shots and the doctor will ask more questions.
We learned that around the four-month check up the baby can start to drop the late night feeding. The doctor suggested scaling back the feeding gradually, 15 minutes a week for 4 weeks. At the end of that 4 week period the baby should be ready to sleep all the way through the night, according to the doctor.
No way he’s 3 months old already! Can’t believe it… thanks for keeping us updated!
