After much procrastination I finally got my physical, PSA test and prostate screening done the other week. A couple of years ago I drove north about 30 minutes to receive a free prostate screening. It was a cold, rainy day, there was a small line and I was lazy, so I left and waited three years to get a prostate screening.
My prostate screening came back with no problems. I wish I had gotten it years earlier, but in the end it all turned out OK for me.
The free prostate screenings that I didn’t take advantage of happen every year in Atlanta. On Saturday, January 14 at the Kroger on 2100 Riverside Parkway in Lawrenceville and Sunday the 15th at the Kroger in Snellville at 1670 Highway 124 from 9-5 you can get screened for free.
There are 20 fixed appointment times that can be made in the mornings by emailing damon.aluisy@coxradio.com. Those appointments can guarantee you no wait and get you in and out quickly.
Don’t live in Atlanta and would still like a free prostate screening? Check out Zerocancer, their mobile bus goes around the country providing prostate screenings in style. There’s a big screen TV and leather sofas so that you can relax in style while you wait for the screening. The bus goes around the country and you can check out their site to see if they’ll be making a stop near you.
Free prostate screenings?! Thumbs up! Just kidding. Thanks for making us aware of this vitally important service. I had no idea.
