Bertolli Meal Soup makes a weekday dinner special

In my perfect world I make the week’s dinners for the family on Sunday afternoon. They’re then put in the freezer in plastic containers with matching tops and I have plenty of time to watch Once Upon A Time before I go to sleep. In reality my Sunday’s are lazy, unproductive days where the family plays outside and I’m lucky to watch an episode of Bait Car.

The meals for the week are usually planned a minute or two before they’re made and the criteria for what we’re having for dinner depends on the ingredients that are actually in the house. When I was asked to try Bertolli Meal Soup to see how special it can make a weekday dinner I jumped like a rabbit. I’ve tried Bertolli’s other frozen meals and they’re so good you swear some Italian dude named Gianni is in your kitchen plucking leaves off of a basil bush.

The soup was super simple to prepare. Just put in a cup of water, boil and put the soup in. Five minutes later you’ve got a tasty soup that’s world’s better than something from a can. We tried the Tuscan Style Beef and Vegetables, the meat was cut thick, the veggies were big and the broth was not watered down. We complimented the soup with a side of Italian bread and a cookie for dessert, yummy.

As the meal only took five minutes to prepare I took the remainder of my normal ‘cooking’ time to clean the kitchen. The mail was removed from the kitchen table, the floors were vacuumed and mopped, the baby stuff was put away, dishes were done and the counters were cleaned. Similar to cooking the weekly meals on one day, I say that I’ll clean the kitchen at least once a week, but it sometimes falls between the cracks. Having extra time that can be allocated to cleaning up the house is a chore, but makes your spouse feel special.
