Goop iPhone App Review and Giveaway

I love my smartphone.  It’s my mobile office, photograph storage device, camera, email machine, Facebook checker and twitter sender.  My smartphone is also a fabulous way to kill time.  Granted, rare is the time when a stay at home dad blogger, with a part time business, has time to kill.  In those rare instances, it’s good to have something that can take your mind away and occupy less time than watching TMZ.

Goop is an app for your iPhone that is the simple tale of a land inhabited by Eeeps .  Eeeps live in a world where things drip around them.  If one of these drops of Goop falls on your Eeep, then they get gooped and the game ends.

There are four worlds that Eeeps live in and there are four different types of Eeeps.  The premise of Goop is very simple, just swipe the Eeeep across the screen and avoid the Goop.  Normy is a dinosaur looking creature that plods across the screen, Dafty is a taller lizard thing, Plumpy is similar to Norm and Bitty is the smallest, but quickest of all the Eeeeps.

When you touch the Eeeeps they jump and land in their own particular way.  Bitty can jump the fastest, Dafty hesitates a second before he jumps-and can turn around after he jumps.  Normy jumps a bit quicker than Plumpy, but remember is any Goop hits any of the Eeeps they die.

Goop’s appeal is in its short lived enjoyment.  There are no levels to conquer, no hidden weapons to discover.  All you have to do is avoid the dropping bits of Goop.  You’ve got four different environments to try your skills out in.  Goop is not rocket science.   it’s a simple game that’s difficult to achieve a high score on.  My high score is only 28.

Goop is a good game for people who don’t get much down time.  It’s a fun, light weight game that doesn’t commit you to a large amount of time.  Goop won’t challenge you, but it’s an enjoyable, slightly frustrating game that will pass the time while you’re in the waiting room, relaxing or on the toilet.
