Daddy Mojo’s Round Up challenge

And in this corner we have Round Up.  They’ve got a massive marketing budget and they’re one of the most well known weed killers in the marketplace.  The question that dads want to know is, does it really kill weeds and if so for how long?  As with our other competitor, Ortho, they have a guarantee, but does that matter?

We purchased the smallest size possible of Round Up to test in the front garden and driveway.  We’re trying this product in the front and a different weed killer in the back yard.  The reason we purchased the smallest container is that if it doesn’t work, then I want as little of my hard earned cash as possible going to the company.

My initial observations on the Round Up spray bottle is that it’s not easy to squirt.  I’ll attribute that to the fact that the smallest bottle only has the squirt and not the sustained spray that the bigger containers have.  However, in the real world, a bottle that small of weed killer is pointless as I went through that entire bottle on my driveway and walkway.

So Ortho Weed B Gon and Round Up were sprayed in the same temperature and the same type of area -patio or between bricks.   They were both sprayed one day apart from each other, with the Ortho being sprayed one day before Round Up.  I’ll take photos of both areas to document which one really kills weeds more effectively.

It’s not rocket science.  Dad’s weekend time precious, he just wants to watch Bruce Lee movies, go to little league games or watch G4.  I sure don’t want to spend more time than needed killing weeds.  Every week I’ll take a photo and keep you abreast of how both areas are looking.  If you’re already on Team Ortho or Team Round Up we’d love to know.  Right now we’re on Team Dead Weeds and are looking for more members.
