The Sony Xperia Smartphone from Best Buy is the next level for people that want to improve their photos and videos. It has big production tricks in a smart phone package.

The Sony Xperia 1 Smartphone, next level photos and more

We were compensated by Best Buy for this post. All thoughts are our own. I have a cell phone, but I use my camera to take the majority of my photos. That’s because the camera on my cell phone doesn’t do what I would like it to do. It doesn’t shoot fast enough, it shoots poorly in low light and takes too long to boot up. I realize these are all first world problems, but when you’re trying to get that one shot, for either your family photos or a client it’s got to happen now-and it won’t be repeated. The Sony Xperia 1 Smartphone levels up the photo capabilities in your cell phone. Consider this the translator that’s never been present between your mind’s eye and that photograph or shot you’ve always known was there.

As with any device, the sum is hopefully greater than its parts. In this case the parts add up to a device that’s fast, intelligent, state-of-the-art and certainly fit that description.

For us the 12.0 MP triple-lens camera system is the 500 pound gorilla. There are three different lenses, 16mm super wide-angle lens, 26mm versatile lens and a 52mm portrait/telephoto lens. The phone has Eye Autofocus technology that allows the device to locate and lock onto the eyes quicker. That feature is also key when you’re doing videos. We’ve done countless videos that had to be scrapped because I waved the product in front of the camera and it took too long to lock back onto my eyes.

This feature is also great to have considering that the phone takes up to 10 frames per second in auto focus. Boom. That’s fast and it’s those split-seconds in-between where that elusive photo has been hiding. The remote control is in the sofa and that photo graph was always hidden in an area that you couldn’t freeze, until now.

You’re taking videos aren’t you? Either family videos of you at the beach or short corporate blurbs that allow you to brag about what you’re doing are things that are the new normal. The Sony Xperia can shoot slow-motion videos at 960 frames a second. That’s doing so without an app and only using the built-in power of the phone. The water dropping into water to form those droplets video you always wanted to film is just a glass of H20 away. Of course, when you shoot in real-time you’ll be getting 4K quality that customers or your technology expect.

When you play back images or video you’ll be able to see the difference immediately. It’s a 6.5” 4K HDR OLED touch screen with the incredibly high resolution of 3840 x 1644. Thankfully the Gorilla Glass 6 is also shock and scratch resistant.

The Sony Xperia Smartphone also has an IP68 rating. That’s means that the pone can withstand being submerged in 4.9 inches of static water for up to 30 minutes. That’s pretty amazing. Factor in all of this, plus the holidays are upon us and through December 22, 2019 you can save $200 on the Sony Xperia when you get it from Best Buy. Think of it as the gift that keeps on giving. In this case it’ll keep giving you the top tier photos and videos that you knew were always around you.
